Fernand (Raúl Giménez), der als erster aus der Kapelle zurückkehrt und
Don Caspar und die anderen Höflinge auffordert mit ihm zu feiern, wird
von ihnen mit Verachtung gestraft, ohne zu wissen weshalb. Als sie ihm
sagen er hätte seine Ehre verloren, will er sich mit ihnen duellieren.
Fernand (Raúl Giménez), who came
back first from the chapel to invite Don Caspar and the other courtiers to
celebrate with him, faces their contempt without knowing why. When they
tell him he would have lost his honor, he wants to fight with them.

Erst als Balthazar (Stefano Palatchi) eintritt, erfährt er, daß er die
Geliebte des Königs geheiratet hat.
When Balthazar (Stefano Palatchi)
enters, he is finally told that he would have married the mistress of the
King.
|
Als Alphonse (Manuel Lanza) mit Léonor von der Kapella zurückkommt, wird
er mit dem Zorn Fernands konfrontiert.
When Alphonse (Manuel Lanza) comes back from the
chapel with Léonor, he is confronted with the fury of
Fernand.
|
Dieser wirft ihm Orden und Schwert vor die Füße und verzichtet auf Namen
und Güter, will nur seinen eigenen behalten, um damit seine Ehre wieder
herzustellen. Zugleich verflucht Fernand (Raúl Giménez) Léonor.
Vergeblich versucht sie sich Gehört zu verschaffen und Fernand die

Fernand throws his decoration and his sword to the
feet of Alphonse and renounce on all gifts, names and titles granted to
him. He just wants to keep his father's name to reestablish his honor. At
the same time Fernand (Raúl Giménez) curses Léonor. In vain she tries

Wissend, daß er Fernands Ehre zerstörrt hat, verzichtet Alphonse (Carlos
Álvarez) die Beleidigungen seitens Fernand zu bestrafen, sondern zeigt
Reue - auch Don Caspar bereut seinen und der Höflinge Hochmut.
Knowing that he has destroyed Fernand's honor,
Alphonse (Carlos Álvarez) renounces to punish the insults made by
Fernand, but shows remorse - as Don Caspar regrets the pride of him and
the other courtiers.

Fernand (Raúl Giménez) ist mit Balthazar in das Kloster Santiago de
Compostela zurückgekehrt und schaufelt dort als Novize ein Grab aus.
Fernand (Raúl Giménez) has returned with
Balthazar to the monastery Santiago de Compostela and digs a grave there
as a novice..

Gleichzeitig muß er aber auch an Léonor und die Vorkommnisse denken.
At the same time he remembers Léonor and the
occurences.
|
In Mönchskleidung ist die kranke Léonor (Sonia Ganassi) den
beschwerlichen Weg zum Kloster hinauf gestiegen, um Fernand (José Bros)
um Vergebung zu bitten. Erst langsam besinnt sich Fernand seiner Liebe.
Als er beschließt, mit ihr fortzugehen, ist es zu spät, vollig
entkräftet stribt sie in seinen Armen.
In the clothes of a monk the sick Léonor (Sonia
Ganassi) has made the hard way to the monastery to beg Fernand
(José Bros) for forgiveness. Slowly he admits his still existing love for
Léonor. Finally he decides to flee together with her. But, it is already
too late. Totally exhausted Léonor is dying in his arms.

Balthazar läßt die anderen Mönchen für den toten 'Novizen' beten, auch
er hat Léonor vergeben.
Balthazar makes the other mokns pray for the dead 'novice'
- also he has forgiven Léonor at the end.
